A Free Text to Diagram Maker, Built With Claude Code
This free diagram maker turns plain text into a clean flowchart, process map or architecture diagram. Type one line per connection, pick a theme, and download your diagram as a PNG image, an SVG, an editable draw.io file or Mermaid code. It runs in your browser, with no sign-up and no AI credits.
How to Use the Diagram Maker
- Type your steps on the left, one connection per line, like Login -> Dashboard. Or start from an example.
- Add a label after a colon, like Check password -> Dashboard: correct.
- Pick a direction, a line style and one of the 12 themes.
- Choose a format and press Download.
How to Write Your Diagram
- Use -> for an arrow, ..> for a dashed arrow, ==> for a thick arrow and — for a plain line.
- End a step with a question mark, like Paid?, and it becomes a decision diamond.
- Words like DB, database, Redis or cache turn a step into a database cylinder, and Start or End become rounded pills.
- Write group Backend: API, Worker to draw a labeled box around steps that belong together.
- Add title: Your title on its own line, and direction: LR to draw left to right.
Mermaid to Diagram, and Diagram to draw.io
You can paste a Mermaid flowchart that starts with flowchart or graph. The diagram maker reads its boxes, decision shapes, database shapes, labels and subgraphs, then lays the diagram out again in your chosen theme.
The draw.io download keeps every box and arrow editable. Open it in draw.io (also called diagrams.net) to drag things around, change text or add more shapes. The Mermaid download gives you code you can paste into GitHub, Notion or any Markdown file that supports Mermaid.

We built this diagram maker with Claude Code, Anthropic’s coding agent. It follows the same ideas as the diagram skills we tested for Claude Code: describe the structure in words, get a tidy layout, and keep a file you can edit. The skills ask Claude to draw each diagram, while this tool lays out your text with its own code, so it never uploads your text and loads nothing from the internet.

Is this diagram maker free?
Yes. It is free, needs no account and uses no AI credits, because the layout and drawing happen in your browser.
Is my diagram text uploaded anywhere?
No. Your text stays on your device. The tool keeps your last diagram in your browser so it is still there when you come back.
Can I edit the diagram in draw.io?
Yes. Choose draw.io file as the format, download it, and open it in draw.io or diagrams.net. Every box, arrow and label stays editable.
Does it support all of Mermaid?
No. It reads Mermaid flowcharts, the most common kind. Sequence diagrams, class diagrams and other Mermaid types are not supported.
What kinds of diagrams can I make?
Flowcharts, decision trees, process maps, user journeys, org charts, simple system architecture and data flow diagrams. Anything that is boxes connected by arrows works well.
