Apple Creator Studio is getting its biggest AI upgrade yet. Apple announced today that Logic Pro, Keynote, Pages and Numbers will gain built-in assistants, while Pixelmator Pro adds a natural-language Generate Fill tool. The new features are due “this November.”
Some of the assistants run on a mix of Apple-built models and OpenAI models, according to Apple. That makes this one of the first times OpenAI technology shows up inside Apple’s own creative apps.
What Apple Creator Studio Gets in This Update
The update touches nearly every app in the bundle. Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro and the iWork apps all get something new, and several of the additions are labeled beta.
| App | New feature | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Final Cut Pro (Mac) | Built-in MotionVFX effects, Content Hub video assets, Pixelmator Pro editing | Coming in November |
| Logic Pro (Mac) | Intelligent assistant, drum Stem Splitter, redesigned Browser with a Splice library | Assistant in beta |
| Pixelmator Pro | Generate Fill from plain-language prompts | Coming in November |
| Keynote, Pages, Numbers | Context-aware assistants and MCP support | Assistants in beta |
How the New AI Assistants Work
In Logic Pro, the assistant helps you start a new song, set up a vocal track from a single prompt, or refine a project you already have open. In Keynote it helps design, animate and polish slides. In Pages it drafts and restructures writing, and in Numbers it organizes data, suggests chart types and builds custom tables.
Apple says the assistants understand the document you are working in. They need an Apple Intelligence-capable device and the new macOS 27, iOS 27 or iPadOS 27 software, and they are available in U.S. English only.
Generate Fill in Pixelmator Pro
Generate Fill lets you select part of an image and change it by typing what you want. It is a familiar idea from other photo editors, now built into Apple’s own image app.
MCP Support Opens the Door to Outside AI Agents
The most interesting addition for power users is Model Context Protocol (MCP) support in Keynote, Pages and Numbers. MCP is a standard that lets AI agents connect to apps and tools.
With it, external agents can read content, make edits and run automated actions inside those three apps. MCP support requires macOS 27 or later.
- An agent could pull data into a Numbers sheet and refresh its charts.
- Another could draft Pages documents from notes stored elsewhere.
- A third could rebuild a Keynote deck whenever the underlying numbers change.
Those are examples of what the standard allows, not features Apple has demoed.
What This Means for Creator Studio Users
If you already pay for Creator Studio, you will not need a new app. The updates arrive through the existing apps, and you can try the beta assistants when they ship, as long as your device qualifies.
- Check that your Mac, iPad or iPhone supports Apple Intelligence.
- Plan for the macOS 27 family of updates, since the assistants and MCP depend on it.
- Remember the assistants are English (U.S.) only for now.
- If privacy matters, note that some features use OpenAI models alongside Apple’s own.
Pricing and Access
Apple lists education pricing for Creator Studio at $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year for students and educators. One-time-purchase versions also exist, including Final Cut Pro at $299.99 and Logic Pro at $199.99. Free versions of Keynote, Pages and Numbers continue to come with new devices.

Conclusion
Apple is pushing AI deeper into its creative apps while also opening them to outside agents through MCP. The assistants are still in beta and tied to new operating systems, so expect a gradual rollout starting in November. If you work in music, slides or spreadsheets on Apple devices, this update is worth watching closely.
