Amazon’s Bee Launches Two New AI Note-Takers and a Pro Plan

Amazon’s Bee just unveiled its first new AI wearables since the retail giant bought the startup last year. The new Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse listen to your daily conversations and turn them into summaries, reminders, and to-dos. There is also a new $11.99 monthly Bee Pro plan that links your chats to Amazon shopping and Alexa+.

Meet the New Bee AI Wearables

Bee makes small, always-ready microphones that use AI to remember what was said around you. Amazon acquired the company in 2025, when its only product was a $50 wristband called the Pioneer. The Pioneer is no longer for sale, and two new devices now take its place.

Bee Frontier: The Wrist or Clip Option

The Bee Frontier costs $74.99 and is on sale now at Amazon. Like the original, it is a small module you can wear on your wrist like a fitness band or clip to your shirt or bag. It is smaller and lighter than the Pioneer and comes in three colors: Onyx, Lavender, and Sage.

The biggest hardware upgrade is an IP67 rating for dust and water, which the old model lacked. It keeps the same seven-day battery life, USB-C charging, and dual microphones with noise filtering. One press of its single button starts a session, and a press-and-hold lets you ask the built-in assistant a question.

Bee Eclipse: A Magnetic Puck for Your Phone

The Bee Eclipse is a new form factor for the company. It is a card-shaped device that snaps magnetically onto the back of your smartphone, and it uses three microphones. It is aimed more at professional settings like meetings and calls.

Because it is bigger, the Eclipse can hold a larger battery that Bee says lasts more than 21 days. It will cost $99.99 in Silver, Midnight, Honey, and Blush. Amazon only says it is coming soon and has not shared a firm date.

What the Bee Pro Subscription Adds

Both devices work without a subscription. The free tier gives you conversation summaries, recaps, and 14 days of memory. New buyers also get 30 days of Bee Pro for free.

For $11.99 a month, Bee Pro unlocks the rest of the features:

  • Unlimited conversation summaries
  • Suggested to-dos and daily memories
  • A personal chat assistant and conversation templates
  • Third-party integrations, plus new links to Amazon.com and Alexa+
  • A new desktop app for Mac and Windows

Bee already connects with tools like Gmail, Google Calendar, Outlook, and Apple HealthKit. That means it can draft emails or send calendar invites based on plans you made out loud, much like the automatic meeting notes many people now get on their laptops. Bee founder Maria Zollo said early customers will keep their current feature set free.

Shopping and Alexa+ Get Into the Mix

The headline Pro feature is the Amazon tie-in. If you opt in, Bee can spot items you mentioned in conversation and suggest them on your Amazon homepage or in the Bee app. For example, if someone asks you to pick up cat litter, a reminder card could show up the next time you shop.

The Alexa+ link lets you ask an Echo speaker for your Bee summaries, to-dos, or a book a friend recommended. Amazon says Alexa will use voice identification to confirm it is really you before sharing anything. Both integrations are off until you turn them on.

How Amazon Says Bee Handles Your Privacy

An always-listening gadget raises obvious privacy questions, and Amazon is leaning on a system it calls Private Compute. The company says raw audio is processed in real time and then deleted, so no recordings are stored. Transcripts are encrypted with keys created and controlled by your device, which Amazon says means even its own staff cannot read them.

Bee learns your voice during setup, and other speakers are not automatically identified unless they agree to it. Each device has a light that turns on while it is summarizing, and Amazon says users are prompted to get permission from call participants when a recording starts. Still, a glowing light on a phone accessory can easily be mistaken for a charging indicator, so the people around you may not realize they are being transcribed.

What This Means for You

If you have been curious about AI note-taking hardware, Bee is now one of the cheapest ways to try it. The Frontier undercuts rivals like the $159 Plaud Note and the $129 Pocket. Here is what to keep in mind before you buy:

  1. Budget for the plan. The hardware is cheap, but many of the best features need the $11.99 monthly subscription.
  2. Check your local laws. Some states require consent from everyone in a conversation before it is recorded or transcribed.
  3. Tell people when it is on. A small light is not the same as asking, so a quick heads-up keeps trust intact.
  4. Decide on the Amazon link. Shopping suggestions from your private chats are opt-in, so only switch them on if you are comfortable.
  5. Wait for reviews. Real-world accuracy and noise filtering still need independent testing.

If you would rather keep things on your laptop, a dedicated AI meeting tool may cover your work calls without a wearable. You can also read how companies are building AI shopping agents that act on what you say you want to buy.

Conclusion

Amazon is turning Bee from a niche gadget into a real product line, with a cheaper wearable, a phone-mounted option, and a subscription that ties your conversations to shopping and Alexa+. The hardware is affordable, but the real cost and the real value sit in the Pro plan. Privacy promises like on-device encryption sound strong, yet the bigger question is whether the people around you are comfortable being summarized. If you try one, use it openly and keep the shopping link off until you trust it. For more launches like this, visit our AI news page.
